Our ESS (English Speaking Society) held a farewell party for graduating students on December 21. We enjoyed some games, excellent speeches by past and present presidents, and delicious snacks. We thank ex-president Noriko and the other graduating students for helping ESS to be such a successful circle.

On June 19, the Baiko Gakuin University ESS held its 2010 Mackenzie Cup speech contest. The two speeches available to students were John F. Kennedy and Barack Obama’s inaugural addresses. Two of our 1st-Year students, Satoko Murata and Akiho Tsuji took part. Here are the results:

Every year, our ESS circle has a summer camp- a chance to unwind, get to know each other, and practice our English. This year, we traveled to beautiful Iki Island in Nagasaki Prefecture. On June 10, our ESS circle held a farewell party to Nicky, Alice, and James–our Winchester students. They have played a large role in ESS this year, and were particularly helpful in preparing our students for their speech contests. We wish them all the best, and will miss having them on our campus!
