All about Professor Osato
Fubito Osato
Fubito Osato is a professor of English Education at the English Department of Seinan Jo Gakuin University. He has been a member for nearly 9 years and currently enjoys teaching English Listening I and Seminars for the 3rd and 4th year students, as well as courses of English Teacher Training Program.
Background
Fubito Osato was born near Seinan Jo Gakuin in 1941 and attended Tobata Senior High School in Kitakyusyu City. He has had a wide variety of teaching experiences for more than 45 years, at prefectural, national, and private universities in addition to junior and senior high schools after obtaining his Masters in English Education.
Personal
Fubito Osato is interested in learning and teaching Japanese culture. One of his hobbies is singing and reciting Noh Chants (Yoh-kyoku,謡曲). It is very difficult for him to improve his chanting skills. Recently he has been too busy with work to practice. He believes he can not ‘master’ yoh-kyoku, but he can ‘improve’ it with time. He is sometimes on the Noh stage for the contest at Ohori Park in Fukuoka. His motto is ‘Practice makes perfect’ — like English learning.
