About Margaret Orleans

Margaret Orleans is back at Seinan Jo Gakuin after a 13-year absence. She currently teaches Discussion I, Composition I and II, Listening II, and Extensive Reading I and II.

Background

Margaret Orleans began her teaching career with junior high students at Jemez Pueblo, New Mexico. Since then she has taught speech, journalism, English, and religious studies at junior and senior high school in the U.S., and a wide variety of English courses at universities in China and Japan. She spent the last decade teaching English at Meiji Gakuen Junior/Senior High School, down the street from Seinan Jo.

Personal

Margaret Orleans’ chief research interests are the teaching of writing and the use of games in the language classroom. In her spare time she reads everything she can lay hands on, knits, cooks, corresponds, and on rare occasions plays volleyball.
