The Year 1 students went indoor rock climbing while the Year 2 students did a cycling tour of Stoke – a suburb of Nelson. The cyclists had a chance to visit some of Nelson’s original historic buildings – both over 170 years old!

We were given a photo presentation about the history of Nanaimo and then we had a wander through downtown. We’re going to return there tomorrow for a tour of the museum and a visit to the Bastion… one of the oldest buildings in Canada.

In the afternoon, we all went to the Nanaimo Aquatic Center. Most of the students enjoyed swimming and water-sliding with our instructor, Taha, while Tomoko and I went to the training gym (which is part of the center).
