During that week, students have the chance to participate in 4 events:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>New Zealand movie<\/em>: <em><strong>Whale Rider<\/strong><\/em> &#8211; a beautiful movie that\u00a0tells the story of the relationship between a young Maori girl and her grandfather. The movie follows their lives as they struggle with the strong traditions of a New Zealand rural community, and the effects the sudden arrival of a family of whales has on them. \u00a0<strong>July 20, from 6:00pm in Room 527<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><em>English Lecture<\/em>:\u00a0<strong>\u201cReach for the stars! Go Global!\u201d with Gina Whittle &#8211;\u00a0<\/strong>Listen to New Zealand-born Gina Whittle talk about future dreams, the benefits of speaking English, and how to be successful in your career.\u00a0<strong>July 21, from 4:20pm in Room 6206<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><em>New Zealand Quiz<\/em>: Find the answers to 10 questions hidden in QR codes around Building 5. Bring your answers to\u00a0Malcolm &#8211; the first students to answer get a prize!<\/li>\n<li><strong><strong><span class=\"Apple-style-span\" style=\"font-weight: normal;\"><em>Cooking class<\/em>: \u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/strong><strong>\u201cScones! \u00a0<\/strong>Scones are not really a New Zealand food, but they are very popular there. Come and learn from Malcolm how to cook them. You can even eat what we make!
