Just like Japan in the Showa Era, the young people of Vietnam are working hard to help their country take its place as a leader among the developing countries of Asia. After 36 years in Japan, I want to share with you my experiences of teaching English for a year in Southern Vietnam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Dennis Woolbright<\/strong> is an American who has been living in Japan for 36 years. During that time he was a professor of English Studies at Seinan Jo Gakuin University for over 20 years. After retiring, he traveled to Vietnam where he has been teaching English for the past year.
