On July 22, a TV crew from RKB visited our campus to film one of our students, Yuka Sakaguchi. Yuka is a member of Kitakyushu City’s soccer club’s cheerleading team, and RKB are producing a programme about her life. While on campus they joined Malcolm Swanson’s seminar class to film Yuka as a student. The programme will be aired in September.
On July 15, we were privileged to enjoy Mr. Rio Imamura’s lecture entitled “Dear Miss Breed” [see info]. He spoke about the work of Clara Breed, in particular focusing on her support for the Japanese-American children who were placed in internment camps during World War II.
