Cafeteria & Shop
Cafeteria isn’t opened on Saturday. The shop is open, but there are no lunch boxes, etc. When you have supplementary classes, it’s better you bring your lunch or go to the shop as soon as possible.
食堂は土曜日開いていません。ショップは開いていますが、お弁当やおにぎりなど数が少ないです。土曜日に補講があるときは、昼食を持ってくるか、早めにショップに行くことをオススメします。
Campus Life
AKIKOMA is those classes there aren’t in your schedule. Therefore, KOMA is time. 空きコマというのは自分で決めた時間割の中で授業が無い時間のことです。したがってコマというのは時間のことです。
Chatterbox
The best answer is to visit Chatterbox and see for yourself. We are constantly adding DVDs, and we sometimes have movie nights there as well.
We created Chatterbox as a place we we could sit and chat in English, watch movies, and so on. So, the answer is YES! – we want you to only use English in this room.
Chatterbox is a room where English Department students can chat in English, watch videos, read books, and so on. It’s a free space you can reserve for your group. You can find it on the 3rd floor of Building 5.
Clubs & Circles
You should do that when you want to connect with some seniors. You will enjoy your university life more, but it could difficult for you if your house is far from school. 先輩と関わりを持ちたい人は入るべきだと思います。サークルは土日もあり家の遠い人は大変だけど、九工大との合同サークルもあり大学生活を楽しめると思います。
Courses & Classes
We recommend English teaching course when you want to tell Japanese students how fun English is. On the other hand, we recommend Japanese teaching course when you want to tell foreigners how fun Japanese is.
日本の学生に英語の楽しさを教えたい人は英語教員を、海外の学生に日本語の楽しさを教えたい人は日本語教員をオススメします。
There’re no rules about grade. You have teaching practice during the second semester of third year university student. You can’t get teacher’s license by taking classes. You can get qualifications of examinations.
When you want to get teacher’s license, you can take special class.
成績に関しては特にありません。実習は３年生の後期にあります。日本語教員の免許を取れるわけではありません。授業を受けることで、受験資格を取得できます。希望する人は免許取得の授業を受けれます。
You can take it in the case you study abroad for half a year.
半年間の留学であれば、4年間の間で取得できます。
Junior highest school teacher’s license and high school teacher’s license.
中学校と高等学校の英語の教員免許を取ることができます。
You have to archive results more than “good” about English compulsory subjects. You should check “Campus Life”. You have classes on Saturday twice a year. Also you have teaching practice during the first semester of senior.
英語の必須科目は「良」以上の成績を取らないといけません。成績に関しての詳細はキャンパスライフに書いてあるので、確認しましょう。年に二回土曜日に教職の授業があります。実習は四年生の前期にあります。
You must pay another tuition to take classes of English teaching course and Japanese teaching course. The number of subjects increase. Also the subjects of English teaching course and Japanese teaching course aren’t included normal subjects to graduate. You should consider them!
教職も日本語教員も授業を受けるために別費用がかかります。履修科目が増えるうえ、教職と日本語教員に関する科目は卒業に必要な単位数には含まれません。
履修するときは、しっかりと考えて決めましょう！
First, you have to prepare a school timetable, school’s guide book; Campus Life, and syllabus! Then, you have to check compulsory subjects of first year students! Finally, you select elective subjects. You can ask your special peer supporter about elective subjects in detail!
まず、時間割表、キャンパスライフ、シラバスの３つを準備しましょう！そのあと、一年生の必修科目を確認！必修科目がいつあるのかわかったら、選択科目を選んでいきます。選択科目の各科目については、ピアサポーターに聞いてね！
ESS Circle
5号館の3階にあるChatter boxで週に一回活動しています。興味がある方は、5号館1階のホワイトボードにメールアドレスと詳細が書かれた紙を掲示するので、よかったら見てください。
We can help you to enter speech contests! They’re going to be good experiences for you. As a matter of fact, the Dozier speech contest at Seinan Gakuin University will be held on 26th May. If you are interested in it, please let us know by 7th April.
We mainly do debate, discussion, and speeches. Sometimes we watch and discuss movies. In addition, we have seasonal events like a Christmas Party. At the Christmas party, we ate Christmas dinner and exchanged presents. That was a great party! We also have a shop at the school festival and we are planning an ESS Camp this summer.
