Volunteering Abroad
On October 18, a large crowd came to listen to two excellent lectures on volunteering in Cambodia. The first, by ex-English Department student Chiyo Furukawa, talked about the programme she and her family and friends have set up to support rural villages through providing clean water wells, clothing and food. Following that, one of of lecturers, Miki Tsukamoto explained the project she is working on to support English education in rural Cambodia. It was a moving lecture, and many of us felt encouraged to participate in similar programmes.
