This was the winning haiku by Ron C. Ross of Australia in Seinan’s International Haiku Event on November 3. The contest, also supported by the Japan Association for Language Teaching and Kitakyushu City, attracted over 300 entries from all around the world. In addition to the contest, a lecture on creating Haiku in English was given by Prof. David McMurray of Kagoshima International University, and we listened to a beautiful shakuhachi concert by Kohzan Yamasaki.
