Australia Month

Come and learn a bit about "down under"

October is Australia Month in the Department of English. During this month, we’re going to be doing a few activities related to Australia, introducing the country, its culture, and its wildlife. Unfortunately, because of the current COVID-19 situation we will have to do almost everything online, but we still plan to have a lot of fun. Some of the activities include:

  • 10/12: An English Lecture on “The Problem with Australia’s National Anthem” by Kristen Sullivan
  • 10/15: The All Australian Quiz Show… this will be online with Malcolm Swanson
  • 10/18: Join Sullivan-sensei for an online lunchtime session on learning Australian Slang. Try using some slang in your classes later!
  • 10/21: Mr Zitzmann will be showing some short Australian movies on Zoom. Get your popcorn and drinks ready!
  • All month: Questions About Australia. If there’s something you want to know, ask your questions here [LINK]

We hope you enjoy this cultural month, and learn a little bit about this great country!
