Korean Trip: 2015/05/22~2015/05/24

私はRCEエコパークのオープニングセレモニーに参加をするため、韓国のトンヨンへ訪れました。RCEとはRegional Center of Expertise on Education for Sustainable Developmentの略で、この施設は、私たちの町や国、そして世界に目を向け、未来のために持続可能な社会を築くための研究や学習を推進することを目標としています。また、トンヨンや岡山など、各国の市長による円卓会議にも参加をすることができました。今回の滞在の中で一番の思い出は、なんといってもトンヨン市長主催の食事会です。そこでは韓国の学生たちと、英語を通してたくさん話しする機会を持つことができました。今回私が韓国で国際交流を行って、いかに英語が今後のグローバル化の中で大切なのかを気づくことができ、これからも英語学科で勉強に励んでいきたいと強く思います。
I went to Tongyeon, Korea to join the opening ceremony of the RCE Eco-Park (Sejahtera Center for RCEs in Asia-Pacific 7th Tongyon ESD). RCE means Regional Center of Expertise on Education for Sustainable Development, and this project is for sustainable development in our cities, our countries, and the world. I also took part in a roundtable discussion between some country mayors. Best of all in Korea, I really enjoyed the “Welcome Dinner hosted by the Mayor of Tongyeong”. I had a lot of chances to use English, and then I was so glad to make many Korean friends there. They were kind to me, and it didn’t take long for us to become friends. After I came back from Korea, I realized how important English is for globalization and the enjoyment of relationships with many people. Thank you.
