Mallory Cup English Contest 2014

On September 27, we held our 9th Mallory Cup English Contest. Six elementary school groups and 13 junior high school groups performed skits before a panel of judges. This year’s skits were of a particularly high standard, so the judges (David Street, Cynthia Daugherty, and Richard Payne) were hard pushed to choose the winning teams.

The results were:

Elementary school section

• 1st place – Keiai Elementary School (A. Kubo, Y. Nagai, and I. Yamada)
• 2nd place – Keiai Elementary School (D. Fujii, A. Sakaguchi, K. Yamaguchi
• 3rd place – Yugawa Elementary School (H. Taniwa, C. Tanaka, K. Yoshitake)

Junior high school section

• 1st place – Oita JHS (N. Tachibana, A. Tanaka, Y. Inoue)
• 2nd place – Seinan Jo Gakuin JHS (Y. Shibata, A Ishikuro, N. Higuchi)
• 3rd place – Fukuoka Daigaku Fuzoku Ohori JHS (M. Takeichi, R. Matsuba, T. Imai)
