After a 2-year break because of COVID-19, we were finally able to hold our annual English Camp for our Year 1 & 2 students. This camp offers students the chance to bond with other year groups and staff while also improving their English skills. On the Friday afternoon, we held a range of activities, including our popular “Egg Drop Contest”, followed by a vocabulary quiz, and “finding information about the teachers” challenge, and finally a short Ukrainian-language lesson. After dinner, we held our skit contest [YouTube video] with all students putting on performances of classic stories with a twist.
On Day 2, after breakfast the students took part in a postcard writing activity before boarding the buses to Daizaifu where they could wander around while completing an activity. Finally we returned wearily to Kitakyushu before being dropped off at Kokura Station. Lots of fun, plus a wonderful chance to make new friends. Here are a few photos:
