Every year, our 4th Year students complete their sotsuron, or graduation theses. These are essays written around a research project of their choice, and are submitted at the beginning of January each year. Following this, they all prepare a poster presentation which they perform to the younger students.
Once again we had to hold this session online because of the COVID-19 situation. Using Zoom, the presenting students sat in individual breakout rooms and the other students rotated around, visiting the topics that interested them. Our students’ skills with using Zoom are quite impressive now, and they were able to handle this with ease. In all, almost 140 students took part in this, and 56 of them gave poster presentations. This was a great opportunity for the younger students to get ideas for their own sotsuron, plus learn about the requirements for writing one.
